Throwback Thursday- Year in Preview (Review)

I am linking up again for Throwback Thursday!  I can't believe we are already halfway through 2013, so I thought it would be fun to revisit my post about the year in preview!  I wanted to share how I am doing at my predictions!

Ready for 2013!

I am Linking up with Michelle at Making it as a Middle School Teacher for her Linky: What's ahead for you in 2013?
I think that 2012 has been a great year!  The numbers 12 and 13 are, and have been, my two lucky numbers since grade school.  So, I like to think that these two years have to be lucky for me!  As I look into the new year, I hope to grow my blog and TpT site, learn more about Reader's Workshop, and take my ESL Praxis.  However, I would also like to spend a little more time relaxing and enjoying myself.  With full implementation of the Common Core this year and just getting going as a seller on  TpT, I feel as though I never save time for myself anymore.  That is one of my biggest goals in the new year.
Here are my 13 goals for 2013:

I hope you have a very happy New Year's Eve!  I hope that the New Year brings great things!
Things I have accomplished from this list:
- I have been running pretty regularly.  I try to run at least 2 miles or more a day.
- I used the iPad cart at school a few times in the spring!
- Loved Dr. Seuss Day, as usual.
- Spent some time with my mom at Seabrook Island, SC.
-  While my student teacher was teaching, I did a TON of organizing!
- As of today I am at 174 followers!  My goal was to have at least 100 by the end of the year!  Woo hoo!
- I doubled my non-fiction collection of books and our school bought our grade level some books, too.
- I used the snowman glyph and it turned out super cute!
- I attended the Reader's Workshop training provided by my school.
- I have read about 8 books this summer!

Things I am still working on:
- I haven't finished reading The Reader's Workshop by Lucy Calkins.
- I did not take my ESL Praxis.  I still would like to at some point, but I was just too busy this spring, when I had been hoping to take it.

Overall, I am very pleased with all that I have accomplished this year and it is only halfway over!

  1. Congrats on your running accomplishment - as a teacher that isn't easy!! I'd love to be better about it during the school year. Summer makes it easy.

    1. Thanks for stopping by! It was fun looking back and what I had hoped to accomplish this year!

  5. I love these looking back posts - so interesting to see which predictions came through and which did not. I remember about 15 years ago I started my masters in Education Technology and we all sat around talking about whether or not computers would change teaching at all. We thought it might save a bit of time on report cards, but that it! We had no idea what was to come!

    1. That is too funny! It is amazing how things have changed in the world of education! Thanks for stopping by!

  6. Congrats on accomplishing so much! I did this linky too, so I will have to go back and check out what I said I wanted to do. :-)
